Choose the 4WD trip if you prefer technical river fishing, walking and wading, sighting individual trout and adapting your presentation to clear water.
If you are staying for several days, booking both experiences provides two completely different views of fishing in the Southern Lakes region.
π How long are the trips?
Both are approximately nine-hour guided experiences.
The day usually begins at approximately 8am and finishes around 5pm, although times can vary depending on the selected location and conditions.
Snacks, refreshments and a cut lunch are included. Safety equipment and fishing instruction are also provided.
π When are the trips available?
Both experiences generally operate from October through May.
Weather, water levels, accessibility and fishing conditions can affect the final destination. Your guide will assess the available options and choose an appropriate location for the day.
π What equipment do I need?
Waders, boots, rods and reels can be hired when booking. You are also welcome to bring your own fishing equipment.
All anglers require an appropriate New Zealand Fish & Game licence. This can be purchased online or arranged with your guide.
