heliFISH takes you beyond the tracks and into remote alpine country by helicopter, opening access to backcountry rivers that would otherwise take hours or days to reach. The flight is part of the experience, carrying you across some of New Zealand’s most dramatic landscapes before landing close to carefully selected river water.

This is not a fixed, one-size-fits-all itinerary. Your guide will shape the day around the season, weather, water conditions, your experience and the kind of fishing you want to enjoy.

The Experience

heliFISH may depart from either Queenstown or Glenorchy, as Queenstown Fishing operates trips from both locations. The departure point will be selected around the river, weather, aircraft operation and the best overall itinerary for your group. After a scenic helicopter transfer, you will fish a remote alpine or backcountry river with a Queenstown Fishing guide. The exact river and fishing area will be selected around the season and conditions.

Whether you are learning to fly fish or already travel with a favourite rod, heliFISH is about quality time on the water, personal guiding and access to country most visitors never see.
