Our guided river fly-fishing season generally runs from 1 October to 31 May. Lake fishing is available throughout the year, giving visitors an alternative outside the main river season or when river conditions are unsuitable.

π« Do You Need a Fishing Licence?
Yes. Anyone actively fishing requires a current New Zealand Fish & Game sports-fishing licence.
Short-term licences are available for overseas visitors, and we can help arrange the correct licence on the day or onboard. Fishing licences are separate from the guiding or charter price and are non-refundable.

Anglers must take freshwater biosecurity seriously to prevent the spread of didymo and other aquatic pests.
Follow the Check, Clean, Dry process whenever moving between waterways:

- Dry equipment thoroughly before entering another waterway

Can I keep a fish?
